Is the thoughtful pursuit of faith met with these struggles because it's so easy to doubt whether your faith is authentic enough? Can that even really be a question?
Is it too easy to lose faith? Or is it too easy to have it? Do you really lose faith or do you merely change your belief and the faith you have still is there but you merely don't believe it?
We have that parable about faith the size of a mustard seed moving mountains. Are we worried about the size of our faith? Is it an all or nothing sort of proposition? O' ye of little faith.
The thought my friend Lee had in his blog a few weeks about is that when it comes down to it, we believe, we don't know. and that has to be good enough for now. We'll never have 100% certainty here on earth.
Ever really read the lyrics of the Casting Crowns song "Somewhere in the Middle"? I've picked up the most convicting phrases, particularly for me:
- Fearless warriors in a picket fence, reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
- Deep water faith in the shallow end and we are caught in the middle
- With eyes wide open to the differences, the God we want and the God who is
- But will we trade our dreams for His or are we caught in the middle
- Somewhere between my faith and my plans
- Somewhere between the safety of the boat and the crashing waves
- Somewhere between a whisper and a roar
- Somewhere between the altar and the door
- Somewhere between contented peace and always wanting more
Have faith? I'm 100% sure I do. Does it have to be loud? Does it leave you wanting? Content? Holy Discontent? That's what I ponder.

Oh and one more question...why does Jesus at the end of Mark 5:43 - why does Jesus tell the family not to tell anyone of the miracle? wouldn't you want to tell people what you had seen?
