While surely the oscars honor some mighty fine actors, I just have issues honoring people for seemingly rather easily portraying the same character in movie after movie. And yep you guessed it, this is a short rant about the movie Up in the Air. I just don't really understand how any of the characters or the actual movie deserves such high praise. Sure it was a whole lot less predictable that When in Rome BUT george clooney merely flirted and played himself and the other non memorable actress didn't really wow me either.
Then again, I really haven't been to the movies lately where anything really was spectacularly good. Perhaps I'm just in a glass half empty sort of funk?
