So I met up with our book group tonight at Shamrocks Bar on 7th in St. Paul for a discussion on The Kite Runner and $1.50 burgers, $1.00 fries and a root beer. Totally wonderful food and even better discussion.
I've forgotten how much I miss sharing ideas about things I've read. The lyric of the written word fascinates me and this story was wonderfully written although it's one of those books that I'm not sure that I would recommend to everyone or anyone as it's uncomfortable to read about some of the violence and the guilt of hierachy and class has on a community.
But if you have a chance to partake in Shamrock's Bar - it was a fun place to hang and the burger was pretty decent for a dollar.
