The best part of the after work social "happy hour" was the stuffed mushrooms. Tiny bits of yummy garlicy goodness. It was nice to see Ecoville put the hotdog hut area to good use.

For those of you who missed my rants last year about this - to summarize, my place of employment revamped this perfectly decent sitting area in the back of our building last year and really made it look the same except for one thing.

New granite work in the same shape and still black. New doors. They removed the "moat" around the building and built this butt-ugly square box that is a place where our cafeteria sells hot dogs and burgers on the two or three days it's actually nice enough for people to want to sit out there. They did buy metal tables and chairs, which I'm sure will be nice and toasty when the sun is fully on them (kind of like the idea of wrought iron in Arizona...not exactly the best idea)

So far it's been either too windy or too cool for the hot dog hut to be open but we are all just waiting joyfully for the place to be open. They spent a heap of money, they claim, to help boost morale and probably more accurately because the granite was becoming a safety hazzard and they also needed to fix a leak in the moat. (I used to love the fact that our building had a moat/fountain and it was relaxing when the fountain actually was working, to just go outside and sit.)

Anyhow tonight we hosted a happy hour for the marketing folks. Meatballs, artichoke dip, and these mushrooms. Wine, beer and soda. About 25 people showed up which seemed a little pathetic too. Not a whole lot of people stayed more than about 10 minutes. Yep, a great time was had by all.
