Granted he was only on the Chicago Cubs for one measly year but congratulations to former cubs relief pitcher Goose Gossage for finally getting enough votes to make it into the hall of fame. My mom and I attended many games in 1988 when he was pitching for the Cubs and I seem to recall my mom really did not like him very much...maybe it was easy to sneer the name Goose or maybe it was his no-so-famous moustache? I am surprised that Andre Dawson didn't slide in before Gossage. When I think back to Wrigley Field in the Dawson era, he was one of the highlights of rather lackluster Cubs games. I'm not entirely sure how the voting works... guess it's something I could google.
