Emily's Baptism Revisited
Jerry posted his pictures and a video of Emily's baptism for all those who were unable to attend the festivities at the church.
Click Here to be linked to the video. (That wasn't really her crying but some other baby in the audience.)
She has this habit of sticking out her arms when she's sleeping and gets jostled. Emily actually hates taking a bath or changing her diaper and clothes so we were all surprised that she didn't pitch a fit with the baptism water. Pete and Sara joked that perhaps the next time they want to give her a bath they should probably wait until she's sleeping!
The priest preached on Zachaeus which I thought was fitting as an illustration of new beginnings. One of my hopes for Emily is that she knows that what might seem impossible through man is possible through God. I'd like her to have a firm conviction in her faith and maybe even act goofy once in a while for the sake of celebrating the love the God has placed in her heart. She probably should stay away from climbing trees until she's at least four of five years old though. (Provided her dad doesn't have them all chopped down before then...ask Pete sometime about how fun it is to rake pine needles in the fall!)
