It's amazing how quickly a happy-go-lucky life can change. In an instant really.

A person I know lost his job this weekend. Actually it's a whole lot worse. According to news reports he was driving home from attending a Cardinals baseball game. Driving home at 3 a.m. makes me think he was a tad tired.

He's been charged with involuntary manslaughter and a DWI.

He killed a young man who was working on the road. In an instant a man is dead and another one is probably really devastated.

I've known people killed by drunk drivers but I've never known someone who may have done the killing. In an instant, a snap bad judgement took the life of someone else but also changed his family's life forever.
